Techno Source An Electronic Toy Company From Hong Kong Produced Electronic Version Of Classic Rubik’s Cube
Techno Source, a TV Game and handheld electronic game markets producer. This company is based in Hong Kong with New York City office representation for the United States. It’s a company founded by Wayne Nathan and Rich Migatz in 2000..
Currently, Techno Source has produced several innovative, popular, award winning electronic game products, including : Intellivision, Crayola, Coleco, Sesame Street, Sudoku, Activision, and Rubik’s Touch Cube. Intellivision was one of Techno Source flagship product, and made the company as the pioneers of the ‘retro gaming’ market, creating TV Game systems that plug directly into your TV. In 2003 the company produces some awards winning electronic handheld games, with some notable titles: My First Electronic Coloring Book, My First TV Play Systems, as well as the Dr. Toy Smart Play Smart Toy. The company made a collaboration with a company called Coleco in 2005 to produce a two players game of basketball, baseball, soccer, and football that can be played simultaneously. Techno Source made an agrrement with Sesame Street in 2005 to produce a line of handheld electronic and TV games that entertain and educate at the same time. Techno Source also has benefited from the recent success of its handheld Touch Screen Sudoku. Activision: On 9 February 2006 it was announced that Techno Source has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq:ATVI) to develop and distribute products TV Plug and Play Systems and LCD-based handheld games. On 2009, Techno Source introduced Rubik’s Touch Cube, a partnership with Rubik’s to create a line of electronic games to complement the original Rubik’s Cube.
This electronic version of TouchCube don’t have moving parts as the classic one, the pieces are now a touch sensitive and interactive pieces that emit lights. This toy have a built in accelerometer that can detect which side is on top, and allows the users to use their finger to swipe on top of the sides to mimic the turning action on the classic game. This toy have many advantages over the original classic Rubik’s Cube, one of the most distinctive on is that the toy comes with an internal program to help you solve the puzzle and a built-in memory that will remember where you left off. If needed, the toy can give suggestion for the next move, as well as to turn back to previous state.
Other features of the Rubik’s TouchCube include:
- Internal memory so it’ll remember where you left off with the cube
- Choice of sound effects – do you want that traditional clicking sound from moving the cube squares?
- The TouchCube also acts as a stress relief device – dock the cube on the display stand and watch the colors slide around while the cube recharges.
